Australia Partner (Spouse) Visa from Pakistan

Professional lawyer-led guidance for spouses and de facto partners in Pakistan seeking temporary and permanent residency in Australia.

Visa Summary

Overview

The Australian Partner visa program enables married spouses and de facto partners of Australian sponsors to migrate to Australia. Both offshore and onshore processing pathways operate as a two-stage process leading from provisional status to permanent residency.

Both pathways have a base charge from AUD 11,710. Applicants must satisfy relationship, character, and health requirements defined by Australian immigration regulations.

Fees are Australian Department of Home Affairs base charges and may change. Professional fees and other costs may apply separately.

Offshore Pathway

Apply outside Australia (subclass 309 temporary, then 100 permanent)

Applicants currently residing in Pakistan must apply for the offshore stream. This involves filing a combined application for the Subclass 309 Temporary Partner visa and the Subclass 100 Permanent Partner visa.

Once granted, the Subclass 309 visa allows you to travel to and reside in Australia with full work and study rights while the Department assesses eligibility for the permanent Subclass 100 visa.

Onshore Pathway

Apply inside Australia (subclass 820 temporary, then 801 permanent)

Applicants who are lawfully present in Australia on an eligible visa can apply via the onshore stream. This combined application includes the Subclass 820 Temporary visa followed by the Subclass 801 Permanent visa.

The Subclass 820 visa provides temporary residency rights during the processing period, establishing a direct bridge toward permanent status under Subclass 801.

Core Criteria

Who Can Apply
